Dubai Event Management Corporation, premier organizers of world-class conferences, exhibitions, sporting and cultural events in Dubai, today announced the appointment of Mohammad Habib Al Redha as Project Director of Dubai Event Management Corporation in the sports division. In his new capacity, Al Redha will lead a team of developers and strategists for generating new concepts, organizing logistics, and liaising with international organizations, under the sports division.
Dubai Event Management Chief Executive Officer Richard Attias said: “Reflecting the vision of Dubai’s leadership, which considers building capacity of its present and future generations as its top priority, we are delighted to appoint Al Redha as Project Director in the Sports Division at the Corporation. His extensive experience and knowledge will allow him to implement long term strategies, and infuse high standards for the division.
Richard continued “the Corporate is committed to providing deserving local talent with the platform and resources to excel in the global sporting arena. We will also seek to attract high-calibre international sportspersons to impart intensive coaching to promising UAE nationals and prepare them for highly competitive world championships.”
Himself an avid sportsperson, Al Redha has participated in several tournaments. In 1987, he was a member of the Junior National Tennis Team for nearly two years. He went on to represent the country in table tennis and achieved second ranking between 1991 and 1994. From 1996 to 2000, he was on the Shooting Championships Olympic Trap, and participated regularly in show jumping at local horse shows.
As a founding team member of DUBAILAND® from 2003 to 2006, Al Redha leveraged his incisive industry insights and results-oriented management skills to lay the foundation for seven major projects at one of the world’s most ambitious destinations for tourism, leisure and entertainment.
Al Redha graduated from the American University in Dubai in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He went on to pursue his Master’s in Project Management from the Rydges University in the US. A certified professional in Leadership Management from INSEAD, Singapore, Al Redha is a graduate of Tatweer’s High Potential Employee Programme that involved direct mentoring from its Executive Chairman, Saaed Al Muntafiq.
Created in March 2008, the Dubai Events Management Corporation is mandated to create, manage and organise cultural and sport events, exhibitions and conferences in the emirate. In addition, it will also develop and own international events, representing all sports except football and equestrian fixtures.
