A strand of your hair
Out of your hijab
Is fluttering in the wind
And you seemed not to care
A sinner you are !
They cried out
For you have revealed
Your beauty to us
The last penny you paid
For the yards of clothing
Was not enough to shield
A few strands of your identity
Therein you sat on bare sands
And wrote down with your forefinger
“I haven’t not eaten for days
Today I shall beg for money
So that I could buy a piece
Of garb to knit together
And hide my strand of hair
Not to provoke you.”
